Water is essential to everyone of us. For the Cambodian people, water is more than just water itself, but a spiritual essence that is intrinsically linked to celebrations. A blessing for the prosperity and serenity of every living thing on earth. A celebration to mark the birthplace of the Angkor empire, the miraculous waters of the Tonle Sap.
The Khmer people greet their guests with an offering of water with a few petals of jasmine flowers, a sacred symbol of purity. Traditional artists perform a sacred dance in asking for heavenly waters to saturate the landscape and bring fertility to the earth, and serenity to the people of Cambodia.

Montra Essence
Stimulate the senses with the natural Cambodian herbs and spices and essential oils we sustainably source to create a scent of place that is the essence of Montra. Lemongrass, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, galangal, jasmine and more are used to create enriching oils for Wellness Home and subtle aromas for Amok Khmer Restaurant.

Montra Nivesha is committed to supporting sustainable tourism in a number of important ways including: striving to be a plastic-free property by installing a purified drinking water system, providing refillable bottles to guests and using bamboo straws; sourcing organic rice, vegetables and fruits directly from village farms; and installing a solar powered electricity system.
